Mulan is actually one of my favourite Disney films after The Lion King (and maybe Cinderella and The Little Mermaid). Actually, The Lion King is my ultimate favourite, then the others don't really have a ranking.
Mulan (2009) |
This evening I watched Mulan, but the real people film version. It's usually not my type of film, I say I don't like war films, but when it comes to it, I actually really like them. But I guess I say I don't like them because they're always really sad and epic, and I think it's really painful to think that something (or something really similar) actually happened and this is how millions of people died in real life. But Mulan actually turned out to be really good =] It's the 2009 version (and apparently there's another version coming out this year). But the main is this actress I quite like, she was also in the little sister in this other film called 'Closer' (or something on the lines of that), it's actually called 'So Close'. (It's also a pretty good film, some bits are a bit weird (not in a bad way and not that weird, but it used to make me cry. And it was because of this film that I fell in love with the song 'Close To You' ^^) Anyway I think she was really good in Mulan, so if you have two and a half hours spare, I recommend it ^^
The main dude was alright too. He looks familiar for some reason, but I haven't seen him anywhere (as in, in any films..., not literally anywhere xD) I'm checking out his Wikipedia page (as I do, when I discover someone new). He's in a lot of olden time/historical-y films. As much as I like history films and stuff, I can't take too many of them. They require a lot of concentration and understanding.
P.s. As I was Googling the real version of Mulan I just watched, I realised that the Disney version was made in 1998... woah so long ago. I was only six years old... Time flies by. It really surprises me when I realise how long ago these Disney films were made but it feels like it was only last year or something... it's just such a childhood thing and it doesn't feel like it was that long ago because I don't feel like I'm growing older (or shall I say, I'm still quite immature xP)
omg, i saw that dvd in like tesco! Ahh, I almost bought it :')
ReplyDeleteBut we saw mulan when it first came out in america!! :DD I remember because it was the first film my brother ever saw and he was like one ;) Anyway, there was this really long advert with that famous electric violin woman and she played for like 10 mins and then when it ended my brother jumped up and started clapping and said "I love that film!!".. it was actually soo funny XD Everyone in the theatre was laughing so loud :D
