TV Dramas

As I had started to write this post, I had titled it Another Untitled Post. But as this developed, I ended up calling it drama. No, not lots-of-things-going-on-in-my-life drama (though there are aspects of that), but I just couldn't stay away from one of my favourite hobbies of all time: TV drama.

I have my theory driving test tomorrow =) When I pass that, I can book my practical driving test. So I should really be revising for that right now. That was until I decided I needed a cup of tea, then decided to write a post. So all was going well until I had decided to let myself get distracted.

As most people know, I'm a big fan of watching TV, whether it's movies, TV programmes/dramas (American, Taiwanese, Korean or Japanese). I've actually been pretty out of touch with dramas recently. I'm a big fan of How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory, and I have been up to date with those for a long time, and each week is an agonising wait for the next episode.

Last year, a friend of mine who is also an avid fan of How I Met Your Mother recommended Modern Family. After a very busy year, I've finally caught up to all the episodes of Modern Family. Yay! I realised how much I hate being up to date with all of the latest episodes. It always feel so empty once I've finished watching something. And usually for the next few days, I keep on finding things to watch.

So I've finally watched Looper yesterday. It was pretty much how I expected it to be, except that I have a very, very, very bad and annoying habit of spoiling things for myself. After a short while into the movie, I Wikipedia'ed it. (I'm sorry for turning Wikipedia into a verb.) Any how, so not long into the movie, I know what happens. I did save the last bit of the movie as a mystery... I stopped at the last two or three paragraphs. As I watched the movie, it didn't take me long to give into temptation and just read the last few paragraphs. So I even knew what would happen at the very very end.. So... that's the story of how I spoiled a movie.

Oh oh, I also finally watched Kung Fu Panda 2. Ohhh, why have I waited so long to watch the second one! The first one was alright, not my favourite, but definitely worth watching once. But the second one is totally amazing. Maybe I was just in a weird mood, but it made me laugh so much. I enjoyed it so much that I wished my little cousins were next to me so I could watch it with them (though I do think they may have already seen it).

Recently, I've also been watching a Taiwanese drama called Once Upon A Love. I know it sounds corny, that's what I thought at first. This was a few months back, if not longer, but I've seen the name of this drama a few times, then I finally gave it a try. And man, it's pretty good stuff. I've been a bit out of touch with all these Asian dramas, especially the idol ones just because I think I've grown out of them. I'm no longer that teenager who watches all these idol dramas about love and everything where I can predict the whole storyline within the first five minutes. Once Upon A Love is totally different, it's not about this young girl who meets this young, good-looking guy, where they have a misunderstanding upon their first encounter, then they somehow become more acquainted and then starts liking each other, etc, etc. I don't really know how to summarise it, but if you have like twenty hours to spare or something, it's definitely worth a try =)

That's enough of talking, or writing, to be accurate. I think I better get back to my theory revision.

49 Days

You can tell I have coursework due when I post a lot. I think blogging must be one of my most frequent forms of procrastination. I wish I have the willpower to get all this coursework over and done with. But I have three. Bad times. But that is all that's left in my first year of university: three more courseworks and three exams in late May/early June and dun dun dunnnnn that'll my first year of university finished. (And I'm sure the work only gets worse as life progresses).

A brighter side, I am extremely looking forward to summer! Despite the fact I want to get a job and work all summer so I can save up lots of money... but at least I won't be feeling guilty about watching lots of drama and anime - like I do now.

Oh, speaking of dramas. I started watching 49 Days. I keep seeing it on websites but it didn't really seem interesting enough for me to watch. I'm glad I started it.

49 Days is about this girl, Ji Hyun who will be married in a week's time and seemingly has the perfect life, gets into a car crash. On the other hand, there is another girl (Yi Kyung, maybe... I've watched so many episodes but I still can't remember her name) who works in a convenient store, doesn't have many friends and basically lives a depressed life - she tries to commit suicide. Then Ji Hyun, the one who gets in a car crash, is given a chance by the scheduler (sort of like a shinigami). The mission is Ji Hyun has to find three people who will cry genuine tears for her but using Yi Kyung(?)'s body.

It sounds complicated and the synopsis sounds crap (well that's what I thought when I first read it). But then you slowly get hooked to it ^^
